THE ORIGINS

Ta-Tung came into being in 1980 as an Asian restaurant. You can find this family business at Calle Mare de Déu de la Salut, 75, in the Gràcia district of Barcelona.

THE EVOLUTION

In the early 90s, as a result of Ta-Tung’s success, the company started producing ready-made meals to bring the restaurant to people’s homes. It became a specialist in the then emerging area of pre-packaged, pre-cooked food and Asian food for large-scale distribution, which made the business a pioneer in its sector.

development

Ta-tung’s kitchen located in Sant Vicenç dels Horts, Barcelona, is an ideas laboratory where huge importance is placed on R&D to continually respond to market needs.

Fresh vegetables harvested in the gardens of Maresme and the Llobregat Delta are mixed with spices, seaweed and traditional dried ingredients used in Chinese, Cambodian and Japanese cuisine.

This continual innovation is fuelled by exhaustive research that involves carrying out different consumer studies and visiting and taking part in the leading international trade shows in the sector.

PREPARATION AND
QUALITY

Strict internal controls are in place at Ta-Tung’s large, modern preparation facilities in Barcelona. These controls include an organoleptic analysis of all products, which involves qualitative testing to ensure the quality of each product line. Ta-Tung’s production process is also governed by strict Spanish and European food quality and safety standards.

The company combines its Oriental wisdom with the best techniques from the Western food industry and uses 100% natural ingredients.
Its popular spring rolls are made and rolled by hand and offer excellent quality and natural ingredients. The rice, meat, sushi and noodle dishes are all made while continually ensuring that they offer the flavour, vitamins and nutrients of a homemade meal, but with a lower fat and salt content.

Our detailed and meticulous stir-frying and steaming processes make it possible to strike the perfect balance between taste and authenticity. A veritable fusion product with a combination of colour, aroma, flavour, shape and texture resulting from the blend of cultures that make up the Asian continent.
